The Bespoke Carpet Process: From Design to Dispatch

Ordering a bespoke mosque or hotel carpet can feel uncertain if you do not know how the process works or what is approved at each stage. At Kalida, it follows six clear steps, each with a defined outcome.

1. Project consultation

We begin by understanding the intended use, practical needs and design expectations. This information allows us to identify suitable products and quality options. The consultation establishes the basis for every stage that follows.

2. Measuring and planning

The space is measured and a carpet layout is prepared. For mosques, prayer row alignment is central to the plan; for hotels, the functions of different areas guide the approach. In Turkey, our own teams carry out measuring. For international projects, we coordinate with local teams.

3. Design and material selection

Patterns, colours, wool and quality options are confirmed at this stage. Our design team develops proposals suited to the space and floor plan. You approve the design and product specification before production begins. For bespoke patterns and colours, the minimum order is 200 m² for mosque carpets and 500 m² for hotel carpets.

4. Manufacturing

The approved design and specification enter production at our fully integrated facility in Demirci, Manisa. Yarn production, dyeing, weaving and finishing are managed as one coordinated process. Production takes 6–8 weeks.

5. Quality control

The pattern, colour, dimensions and surface appearance are checked against the approved design and specification. The carpet receives a final inspection before packing.

6. Packing and dispatch

Once quality checks are complete, the carpet is packed for transport. Domestic and international shipping is planned according to the agreed delivery terms, drawing on our experience supplying 59 countries.

The value of staying involved

Defined outcomes at each stage allow the project owner to follow progress from start to finish. Many surprises arise when a step is missed or expectations are not communicated clearly.

These six stages create a transparent, predictable way of working, allowing mosque and hotel teams to follow their project from design through to dispatch.
